University of Tartu Mobility Lab (R. Ahas) and Positium LBS (M. Tiru) were invited to partake in the European Directors General of the National Statistics Institutes (DGINS) Conference and the Meeting of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC), held in The Hague, Netherlands, on the 25th-27th September 2013, with the main topic of this year’s conference being Big Data.
UT and Positium held a presentation, in collaboration with Vodafone and IBM, on methods of generating mobile positioning data based statistics and on data quality control when handling large amounts of data.
