4th place from the European Big Data Hackathon 2019

This year’s European Big Data Hackathon took place place in Brussels from 9 to 12 March. The Mobility lab was presented by research scientist Anto Aasa. Alongside with his team member from Statistics Estonia the team of two managed to gain 4th place. The Estonian team tried to find out what are the reasons of burnouts for Belgian teachers using R, RStudio, python, jupyter and scikit.

This year 16 teams from all over Europe participated in the Hackathon. The winning team was from Poland, 2nd place Italy and 3rd United Kingdom.

The European Big Data Hackathon is an event organised by the European Commission (Eurostat) which gathers teams from all over Europe to compete for the best data product combining official statistics and big data to support policy makers in one pressing policy question or statistical challenge facing Europe.
